Penguin cam is streaming live from a kororā/blue penguin nesting box at Ngāmotu Beach, New Plymouth
Penguin cam is currently focused on a burrow where a bird is moulting.
For those of you interested in knowing what happened to our birds sitting on eggs we have a sad update. After diligently sitting on two eggs for nearly 2 months our penguins abandoned the nest on Saturday 13 January. Incubation normally takes 40 days so the eggs appear not to have been viable.
Penguin cam is proudly brought to you by Chaddy’s Charters, Nga Motu Marine Reserve Society, PrimoWireless and Taranaki Mounga.
PrimoWireless has provided the wireless internet connection to allow the live streaming. Thanks also to the George Mason Charitable Trust for providing cameras and True Sense of Security Ltd for their support in getting Penguin cam up and running.
