As biodiversity co-ordinator it’s Tim’s role to implement the hands-on work Taranaki Mounga is undertaking in the project area. He has extensive experience in vertebrate monitoring and pest control operations and enjoys bringing new ideas and concepts to the project to improve the health of our national park.
Joining the team from Zero Invasive Predators (ZIP), Tim spent a period of time on the Mounga in 2016 where he was part of a research team who tested different methods of possum and rat eradication. He is excited to continue this work with the project team.
Tim completed a Master of Science which included investigating pest animal behaviour towards control devices. He also worked as a technician at Lincoln University investigating novel lures, baits and new control devices for pest species in New Zealand.
