Maria has been the Toi Foundation’s Chief Executive since 2014, having joined the team in 2006 in the position of TSB Community Trust Manager.
The Foundation’s Vision is to be a champion of positive opportunities and an agent of beneficial change for Taranaki and its people. Maria says it is exciting to be part of a project that ensures that the Mounga is returned to its natural state with an abundance of wildlife, not only for those living in Taranaki today but also for future generations.
As well as her role as Chief Executive Maria is the Secretariat for the Trust’s companies – TSB Group Ltd, TSB Group Capital Ltd and TSB Group Investments Ltd. Prior to joining the Foundation Maria was the Manager of Service Delivery at Puke Ariki, New Plymouth’s Library, Museum and Visitor Information Centre, as well as its Acting Manager.
Originally training as a Comprehensive Registered Nurse, Maria worked for 11 years at Taranaki District Health Board in various roles.
She is also the Chair of Netball Taranaki, a Board Member of the Elite Athletes Foundation, and a Community Mentor with a community mentoring scheme run through Venture Taranaki.
